- Update 7/27/2024 2:30 pm: #CottonwoodSpringsFire_CO was called contained 7/27/2024 at 2:02pm for 0.1 acre. Helicopter has been release and road traffic is back to normal flow. Firefighters will continue working on the fire to gain control. Thanks to Chaffee County resources for there help on the incident.
- Update 7/27/2024 12:00 pm: Chaffee County Sheriff's Deputy is managing traffic on County Road 306 near the junction with County Road 345 due to Type 2 State helicopter assisting USFS firefighters with suppression by doing bucket work. Chaffee Captain 3 is assisting firefighters by working as a lookout for the fire.
- Update 7/27/2024 9:30am: Firefighters are back on the fire constructing fire line to gain containment. The firefighters will be assisted in the suppression efforts by using a type 3 helicopter doing water bucket drops.
