Update 8/2/24 7:00 pm: The Thunder Butte Fire name has been changed to Spring Gulch. Same location, same fire just a name change. 

The Thunder Butte Fire is creeping and smoldering in old dead and downed trees in the old Hayman burn scar. Firefighters are currently working with a helicopter dropping water slow the spread of the fire.
