Baker Mountain Fire

Update 7/18/2020, 2:30 pm Firefighters has called the fire controlled  at 1:38 pm for 0.35 acres.

Update 7/18/2020, 1:15  pm: Firefighters has progress bringing the containment to 100% at 12:56 pm for 0.35 acres.

Update 7/17/2020, 9 pm: Firefighters continued to make progress this evening bringing the containment to 75%. They were able to map the fire to provide a more accurate acreage of 0.35 acres. All firefighters have hiked off the fire for the evening and will return tomorrow. 

Update 7/17/2020, 7:20 pm: 3 engine crews, with assistance from one water dropping helicopter, made good progress today on the Baker Mountain Fire. Crews were able to establish fireline around the fire and will continue to strengthen that fireline as well as mop up hotspots on the fire. The helicopter has been released from the fire. 






Murphy Trail Head Fire

  • Jurisdiction: USFS, CO.
  • Resources: 4 smokejumpers, 4 engines, and 1 helicopter
  • Containment: 100% 
  • Controlled: 7/22 4:29 pm at 135 acres
  • Structures Threatened: N\A
  • Evacuation: N\A
  • Closures: none
  • Cause: Lightning
  • Concerns: None
  • Fuels: Cottonwood, Tamerisk, Sage brush

Update 7/22/20 6:30 pm The fire was called controlled, 7/22 4:29 pm, total 135 acres 

Update 7/18/20 5:30 pm The fire is now 100% contained, firefighters will continue working on hotspots and improving fireline.  

Update 7/18/20 5:30 pm The fire is now 60% contained, firefighters will continue working on hotspots and fireline.  The helicopter was released at 4:35 pm  from the incident.

Update 7/18/20 2:30 pm The fire is now at 135 acres,firefighters working on hotspots and fireline.  Resources consists of 2 hand-crews, one type 1 helicopter and 4 engines.

Update 7/18/20, 8:30 am Today firefighters will still be utilizing a Type 1 helicopter with bucket.  The 2 hand crews ( one type 1 crew and a IA type 2 crew) ordered are in route this morning to assist the current assigned resources. Objective today is to gain containment on the Murphy Trail Head Fire.

Update 7/17/20, 7:20 pm: Crews utilized a helicopter and engine crews today to fight the murphy trail head fire. 2 Hand crews have been ordered for the fire to assist the current assigned resources.
